Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 17 September 2026
This page explains how to ask Automic LLC to delete data it holds about you, and what happens after you ask.
What you can ask us to delete
If you messaged a business that uses Automic
You can ask us to delete the messages Automic processed for your conversation with that business, and the identifier associated with you.
If you are a business that uses Automic
You can ask us to delete your business account information, your catalogue and policy information, the credentials for your connected Instagram account, and the conversations processed for your account.
How to submit a request
Email privacy@automicworld.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
What to include
We need enough information to find the right data and to confirm the request is genuinely yours.
- Customers: the Instagram username you messaged from, the Instagram account of the business you messaged, and roughly when you messaged them.
- Businesses: your business name and the Instagram professional account connected to Automic, sent from an email address we already hold for your account.
Never send us a password, a Meta or Instagram access token, or payment card details. We do not need them, we will never ask for them, and a request containing them will not be processed any faster.
What happens next
- We acknowledge your request.
- We verify that the request comes from the person or business entitled to make it. This step protects you: without it, someone else could delete your data.
- We may contact you once if we need more information to locate the data.
- We delete the data covered by the request and confirm to you when it is done.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days of verifying the requester.
What we cannot delete
We want to be clear about the limits, so that you know where else to go.
- Your copy inside Instagram. A message you sent exists both in Automic's records and in Instagram itself. We can delete ours. The copy held in Instagram is controlled by Meta — delete it in the Instagram app, or through Meta's own tools and settings.
- The business's own records. The business you messaged may keep its own records outside Automic, in its own systems. Those are controlled by that business, and you would need to contact it directly.
Limited exceptions
We may keep a limited amount of information after a deletion request where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to resolve an ongoing dispute or to investigate a security incident. Anything retained on that basis is not used to generate replies.
Deleted data may also persist for a short period in routine backups until those backups are cycled out in the ordinary course.
Deleting a business's data ends the Automic service for that business.
